Bank Holiday Weekend Shakespeare in Stafford Orchard
Tickets are now on sale for the New Quorndon Shakespeare Company’s return in August 2021 for another Summer Shakespeare in the Park!
Over three afternoons on August Bank Holiday weekend Petruchio will be attempting to tame the shrewish Katherine whilst falling in love with her. Baptista has decreed that his younger daughter Bianca cannot marry until the older, Kate, has been taken off his hands so the bold Petruchio with an eye for a generous dowry, and the confidence that he can tame any shrew, offers marriage. But will the tempestuous Kate really be tamed? And which of her three suitors will demure sister Bianca choose? The elderly Gremio, the flamboyant Hortensio or the strangely disguised Lucentio?
The Taming of the Shrew is Shakespeare at his entertaining best and the NQSC promises a lively production with cart loads of medieval comedy, lots of action, lively songs and all set against the beautiful backdrop of Stafford Orchard.
The NQSC open air productions are fast becoming a hugely popular summer event in the village and tickets are limited so don’t miss out on the opportunity to see this experienced local amateur company present their version of ‘The Shrew’!
The production will be open-air and will comply with Covid restrictions that are current at the time. The audience will be seated throughout and sheltered from rain or shine by a marquee. There will be an interval and refreshments available.
Tickets are priced at £8 per seat (no concessions) available here
